1. Nylon Membrane:

  • Features: Good temperature resistance, can withstand 121°C saturated steam sterilization for 30 minutes, maximum working temperature of 60°C. Chemically stable, resistant to various organic and inorganic compounds such as dilute acids, dilute alkalis, alcohols, esters, oils, hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, and organic oxidants.
  • Applications: Used in water filtration for electronics, microelectronics, and semiconductor industries, tissue culture media filtration, liquid filtration in pharmaceuticals, and filtration of water solutions and organic mobile phases.

2. Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Membrane:

  • Features: High mechanical strength, high tensile strength, good heat resistance, and chemical stability. Low protein adsorption, negative electrostatic properties, and hydrophobicity. Sensitive to some solvents like acetone, DMSO, THF, DMF, dichloromethane, and chloroform.
  • Applications: Hydrophobic PVDF membranes are used for gas and steam filtration and high-temperature liquid filtration. Hydrophilic PVDF membranes are applied in sterilizing additives, purifying solvents and chemical raw materials, sterile treatment of reagents, and high-temperature liquid filtration.

3. Mixed Cellulose Ester (MCE) Membrane:

  • Features: Uniform pore size, high porosity, thin texture, low resistance, fast filtration speed, minimal adsorption, and cost-effective. However, not resistant to organic solvents, strong acids, and strong alkaline solutions.
  • Applications: Used for heat-sterilized water injections in the pharmaceutical industry, removing particles from large infusions, sterile filtration of heat-sensitive drugs, particle and non-soluble substance analysis in solutions, and determination of water pollution indices.

4. Polypropylene (PP) Membrane:

  • Features: No adhesives, stable chemical properties, flexibility, not easily damaged, high-temperature resistance, can withstand high-pressure sterilization. Non-toxic, tasteless, acid, and alkali-resistant.
  • Applications: Suitable for making various coarse and fine filters, pleated filter cartridges, and used in plate and frame filter presses in industries such as beverages and pharmaceuticals.

5. Polyethersulfone (PES) Membrane:

  • Features: Hydrophilic membrane with high flow rate, low extractables, and good strength. Does not adsorb proteins and extracts, ensuring minimal sample contamination.
  • Applications: Designed for biochemical, analytical, pharmaceutical, and sterile filtration devices with low protein adsorption and high drug compatibility.

6. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Membrane:

  • Features: Broad chemical compatibility, can withstand strong solvents such as DMSO, THF, DMF, dichloromethane, chloroform.
  • Applications: Used for the filtration of all organic solvents, especially strong solvents that other membranes cannot tolerate.
